Can I disable the DIM function on Monitor Station v1 ?

Hi there! I'm a post-production sound designer/mixer, recently purchased a new Monitor Station v1.

The DIM function is a new (and a bit annoying) addition to my workflow; I'm used to turning the talkback on and off during record or playback (when reading out dialog counter-lines from the control room, for example), without any change in my monitoring or the cue mix, and I'd like it to stay this way… Talents and narrators I record are also bothered with these constant volume changes, which feel like "standing on shaky ground" and affect their performance.

This is a great piece of equipment! it sounds good and I enjoy working with it, but even with minimum attenuation of -6db, Dimming is a nuisance - please tell me it can be disabled… or if no can do, I'd be thankful for some kind of a workaround.

Three more rooms in our studio are about to have their old consoles replaced with Monitor Station, but we'd really like to see this issue resolved before going on as planned. Thanks a lot for any comments.

Eranbarkai,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to disable the DIM function on the Monitor Station v1. This is something that is hard coded into the unit. There is not really a work around and as the Monitor Station v1 is now discontinued ( per the release of the Monitor Station V2 ), there will be no further development on the Monitor Station V1.
