Why do MIDI devices mysteriously disappear when they are still obviously connected?

I have an MPK Mini and a SoftStep configured for Studio One. Both are connected at all times, but Studio One consistently tells me they are not available upon app startup. MPK Mini seems to reconnect on its own, but I have to reconnect the SoftStep. I've seen other reports of similar issues from others.

This does not appear to be a Feature Request. A Feature Request is a suggested addition to Studio One 3 in order to add workflow tools, new options/feature to the software.

Without knowing what computer and OS you are using, this sounds like a setup issue in Studio One and or a setup issue in the computer itself. We encourage you to submit a Support Request with Tech Support to take a closer look at your issue. This could be something as simple as power settings/hibernation/sleep settings in your OS that is causing the controller to loose communication with Studio One.

The feature request part of this is to fix the software so this doesn't happen! Allow for integration with SoftStep that is more solid.
