Arranger section saved as new song

This, or something like this..

I often record sets of live bands using Studio One V3 Pro and wind up with 12-18 tracks stretching over 1-2 hours. I may set markers on the fly for each new song in real time or do so later (It's easy to see by the waveforms where the pauses are between songs.)

Back at the ranch I use these markers to separate the individual songs. Currently I split at markers and bring each song's tracks to timeline-bar-one and pack into a folder. I then disable the folder and process the next song in the same way. At the conclusion I have 12-18 or so disabled folders all containing their respective songs tracks starting a bar one. I then save this configuration in a new folder so that I have the original serial recording as well as separated songs format.

From this configuration I can then enable a particular folder, unpack its content and listen/evaluate/rough cut the song. Eventually, however, before mixing, I have to take the track contents of this particular folder and save it to a new song because the addition of any FXs, start/end markers, track name/notes, etc., will affect the other tracks when they are worked on subsequently. To do so I have to open a new song, copy all the tracks from the folder in question in the old song, and paste into the new song, name and save as. Obviously do-able but a bit of a pita if you have to do it 15 -18 times. The other option is to open folders and delete everything except for the folder I want to work on and save under the songs name. But I am sure you can see that has its own problems and since folders can't be deleted including their tracks, take some time.

What I would like is a command to save arranger sections to a new song file. My workflow would then be 1) Split at Marker 2) Make arrange sections from Marker, 3) Save arrange section as new song with opportunity to name/save.

Such a great point. Myself, I'm just a home hobbyist, but I totally get this. And I'm starting to envision some kind of incorporation of the idea expressed here with the project page. The project page allows you to re-order songs already, so being able to implement the idea explained by dgkenny here does not seem to be a stretch at all. In fact, I see an opportunity for Presonus to set itself apart from the others in yet another way.

It would let me save a lot of time if I could automatically save all the assigned arranger track sections as songs or stems!!
