Average WAVEFORM display in groups, not only tracks

I have a suggestion to make. When routing several microphones to one group (like routing 6 mics into a Stereo group for Piano) and you have to do some detailed volume automation, it would help a great deal if you could 'see' a mock-up waveform of what's going on in that group. Like adding all the waveforms of the channels into ONE waveform that you can actually see when doing editing automation. In my example I was just removing a ton of click-noises in an upright bass group that consists of 2 channels. It would have been much more elegant (and reversible) to do this with volume automation (seeing the average waveform of the two bass tracks) than having to go into the audio and edit the two tracks. If it's more than just two microphone this can be quite tricky. Since you're working zoomed in quite a bit, you'll have to 'trust' that ALL tracks you'd like to edit are selected.
As far as I know no DAW (at least Protools, Logic, Sequoia) can do this. I think it would be a winner for Studio One to have this feature and it's probably not THAT hard to implement.
Another option would be the (optional) overlay of group automation over the corresponding track waveforms. That way, you could look at one track zoomed in, but do your automation to the GROUP.
Man, that would be great!
