latency value won't change

My latency is audible. In "Audio Setup," "Input Latency" reads 12.06 ms, and "Output Latency" reads 16.05 ms. When I change the sample rate (called "Internal Block Size" in "Audio Setup,") the latency stays the same. When I close programs, the latency stays the same. When I remove plug-ins, the latency stays the same. Shouldn't it be changing? I can still hear it.

  • Computer Make and Model: Velocity Micro Raptor Z55 Skylake, 32 GB RAM; intel i7 core; sound card = On-Board Integrated Realtek ALC 887 1.7 Channel Audio
  • Operating System: Windows 10
  • Application Version: Studio One Artist, version 1.6.5 build 16006
  • Audio Interface and it's Driver Version: FireStudio Mobile; Universal Control version 3.5.8208
  • Digital Mixer and it's Driver/Firmware Version: idk what this is or whether I need it.

Thank you to the kind human being who assists me with this. My soul needs to record. I haven't been able to in years, because I always hit one of these technical snags.

Hey Aijweiss

You should be changing the Block Size in your Universal Control instead of inside Stuido One to have it take effect
You can do this while Studio One is running.

Maybe I'm confused on your terminology, but it's the buffer size you want to reduce in order to reduce latency. I don't know, maybe block size and buffer are the same thing, but I do know that buffer and sample rate are not the same thing, so maybe you're changing the wrong parameter.

I'm using audiobox and this is what it looks like with that.

When recording, reduce buffer size, when mixing, increase buffer size.
