Studiolive 16.4.2 ASIO driver problems in Windows 10?

I used to be able to have the Studiolive 16.4.2's ASIO driver loaded in a DAW while other Windows programs were also able to play audio using the regular WDM driver. I can no longer do that, the ASIO driver prevents other Windows applications from accessing the sound card. What makes matters worse is that the driver does not properly close after closing any DAW that is using it, and then audio still won't play in Windows applications until I physically restart the mixer.

I am running Windows 10. I didn't have this problem before on Windows 10, did a recent update break functionality? Is there something I can do to get it working properly?  What is the cause of this? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Universal Control to no avail.

SOLVED:

The problem actually wasn't the drivers. "Exclusive Mode" was enabled in the sound card properties, which caused the issues. To fix this, I went to playback devices, right click on the StudioLive>properties>advanced> and uncheck "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device." Now I can have a DAW open and play audio in other applications at the same time.
