Speakers randomly cut out during service.

Recently bought Presonus Air 15 speakers which have been working great. During our last service, the right speaker was not coming through. After the service we took a look and finally got sound to come to it. A few minutes latter we adjusted the line volume on the speaker and it cut out again. It had to be restarted to achieve sound again. Its currently working but not sure if its a hardware issue or just something random that happened.

The Presonus Air series speakers have two different types of protections included to protect them from overloading signals. When using the speaker check that the internal limiter is not being engaged. This would indicate that the source signal is overloading the speaker. The other protection is a thermal mute feature. If you have been using the speaker at loud volumes for an extended amount of time, this may cause the speaker to heat and go into thermal muting. This would cause the speaker to not produce sound until it has cooled. Please refer to the manual for more information about the thermal muting feature.
