I'm wondering why I should buy a StudioLive RML16AI (or 32) instead of the new StudioLive 16, 24, or 32R

What separates the  2 models ? The new 16R is cheaper than the RML16

Thanks

Hey Mathieu,

Thanks for your interest in our rack mixers! Here's a few differences for you:

Series III Rack Mixers:

  • Combo jacks/line inputs on every input
  • USB 2.0
  • Recording over AVB
  • On-board stereo SD Card recording
  • TRS Mix Outputs
  • 48kHz Sampling Rate
  • Smaller size (a 16R is 1U whereas an RML16AI is 3U; a 32R is 2U whereas an RML32AI is 4U)

RML Series Rack Mixers:

  • FireWire 800 (which can be converted to Thunderbolt using the Apple adapter)
  • Option card slot for a Dante option card
  • XLR Mix Outputs
  • DB25 Outputs for your mix outputs
  • Dedicated mono output
  • 96kHz Sampling Rate
  • Meters on the front of the unit for every channel
  • Expandable (cascading up to 64 channels with two mixers)
