I'm not sure why I have to go to the trouble of going into the editor and manually creating fades(in and out, not cross apparently?) once events are merged.  My other DAWs allow this as much as I want.  So if I have a track event consisting of two events that were merged, then I duplicate this event and need to crossfade the where the two events come together, why shouldn't you be able to crossfade again?  Using the editor takes more steps i.e. slower.
