My VXP channel strip's output cuts out / goes to sleep randomly, anyone know a fix to this (common?) problem?

I have two VXP channel strips with the same / similar problem. They will randomly and briefly quit delivering output when the input signal gets quiet or falls below a certain level. One unit seems to respond to a loud input that will bring it back to life. The other unit just drops out when the input goes quiet and comes back with a distorted "click" sound when the mic gets another impulse. The problem occurs regardless of the compressor being switched in or out.

VXPs were and are still totally awesome, but they haven't been manufactured for a very very long time.  They have reached the End of Service and there are no longer any parts to repair them.

It sounds like they are failing on you.  You might still reach out to PreSonus for options however.

Just clean your insert jacks, it will reduce the problem.
