We've used Studio One v1 for years.

Do we need to jump to the professional version if we have all the functionality we want already or can we just use v3?

The 2 specific functions that are not available in Prime are:

1) the fact that you can't drag all the effects on to the track

2) I can't find transpose.

No where in the official site that compares the various packages discuss these 2 options not present in Prime.

Furthermore, since we own v1, I copied the presets into the Prime user presets folder - and yet it still doesn't work - does that make any sense?  Since we own v1 - why can't we use those presets (specifically some vocal effects).

Thank you, EJ

Hello again,

Not sure if your aware, but there is a Knowledge base@ Presonus.com that has a plethora of answers, and help available.. Here:

http://support.presonus.com/entries/68178944-What-is-not-included-in-the-Studio-One-3-Demo-

Is an article that describes the differences between the versions.  Some of the content available in Studio One 1/2 (especially some third party plugins) are no longer available or don't work with V3... I will do my best to get some answers, but this will likely not be something i can find out today...however, you could try these questions on the forum, under Studio one. There are a lot of people that know a LOT more about S1 than I do.

V3 is a paid upgrade, so you would have to purchase that version. There are some features in Pro that are not available in Prime or Free.

If you are happy with V1 and do not need any newer features, then simply use one of your remaining installations (5 per license) and install V1 on the second computer, instead of trying to use Prime/Free?
