I know people are asking for a mid/side matrix.  Why has this not been done? I tried to build one for a presonous beta tester, who did not understand this concept.  They basically said I was waisting my time, how is this not being taught?  This is a huge part of creating the perception of space in the stereo field.  Without this, mixes sound comparably flat (unless recorded with a mid/side mic set up).  Below is a link to an example.  I would like to know if studio one was designed to do this on purpose because of how digital software handles correlated and uncorrelated (the difference) in stereo sound and the composition/presentation (digital reproduction) of analog monophonic signals. The mathematics of which is similar to decoding subcarrier waves in radio for simulcast broadcasting (even in monophonic signals). Can somebody please help me out here?
