Please make grouping in Notion more intelligent

Recently someone asked about importing MIDI (or playing MIDI live via a keyboard) into Notion and how it then assigned the note groupings. I did a test where I wrote some simple MIDI data in Studio One and then imported it into:

  • Notion
  • Finale 2012
  • Finale 25
  • Sibelius 8
  • MuseScore 2
  • Overture 5

Notion came out, err, behind all the rest in terms of normal beaming and grouping rules being applied properly. Finale, surprisingly, was the next worst - in either the 2012 and 25 editions. Sibelius, Overture 5 and MuseScore each did the proper grouping, beaming and rest assignment.

I have pics of each, but Chris / Brian can see them all in the FB group where I posted details. I'm highlighting it here as an official feature request.

Thanks!
