Question

I am having problems with my audio periodically developing a crackling/hash sound.

It is not consistent and my processing meter is not spiking.

It comes and goes for no apparent reason. When the hash starts it becomes more emphasized when I move the mouse.

As I am playing a file with the hash, it will stop after while, but then start back up randomly.

What can be causing this?

Sorry for the lack of details, I just don't know how else to describe it.

I have Studio One installed on 4 different systems all with different hardware and they all have the problem.

Could be a ton of things.

Maybe driver / interface related? I had that happen once when I was using too low a buffer for an interfaces driver / setup. I think I needed to use their proprietary software to set the buffer too or something like that, if I set it within Studio One only there would be a mismatch and it would make noises like you describe.
