Some people have a lot of plugins. Some plugin developers have pretty obscure sounding names. Sometimes you just want to group certain types of plugins together alphabetically.

Giving a plugin a nickname or new name in the list of plugins allows you to sort your plugins a lot more easily.

Not to hijack this request, but just to add to this, being able to tag plugins in the browser would be awesome too.

For example, if a particular EQ plugin is better for subtractive EQ, you could tag it 'subtractive' and filter by that.

Similar, there's many compressor variants. Being able to tag with 'tube' or 'fast attack' or 'warm' etc would be EPIC.

This would further improve organisation!
