I am using a Windows laptop to use Studio One 4, and I recently learned how to pan tracks. I already have a track that I want to pan circularly, which I know how to do, but I'm not sure how to record or pan the vocals while they're playing. If you're curious, what I did was add a Compressor, Binaural Pan, and Open AIR to the inserts of the track I wanted to pan. I opened channel editor, clicked on the wrench (Macro Controls Mapping), and I dragged the pan to Pad 1-X. Then I dragged Dry/Wet Mix, Gain, and Reverb Mix to Pad 1-Y. I inverted some of the X's and Y's and bent the line. After that, I started playing the audio and dragging the circle back on the channel editor. It sure was working, I could hear the audio being transferred all around my headphones. I want to know how I pan the audio that already exists. I don't think I'd have to rerecord the vocals while doing the panning motion, right? Can someone help me out?

Hey there,

No need to rerecord, you just have to select your desired mode and then play the audio and do your automations in real time, they should be recorded in the arrangment when you put back in "read" mode .

Check this for further details about the different automations modes : https://s1manual.presonus.com/Content/Automation_Topics/Automation_Modes.html

Hope this will help,

Kind regards
