Question

I just connected Studio One Remote to my Studio One 4 (MacBook Pro) and I was surprised that it did not require any authentication or verification. I was expecting a numbered code (or something) to show up on the MacBook to confirm connection...

It is working beautifully and I have no complaints about that! :)

How do I ensure that someone else on the network, say at a public event, will not be able to connect to my DAW?

If you're on a wi-fi network that everyone knows the password to, then you will have this issue. Use a dedicated router that only you know the password to and don't give out that password to anyone you don't know.
