I am needing a way to trigger recording (or even all transport controls) on 2 different instances of Studio One that are running on 2 different systems.

Basically, to divide the workload and to give more processing power to each system, I have my vocals running into one system and my instruments running into the second.

However, I need to be able to record in sync.

Thanks!

Take a look at Vienna Ensemble Pro 6. This is a solution to run your DAW on one computer and your heavy VSTs on networked computers.

Are you aware of the technique of freezing/printing individual VST instrument tracks to rendered audio? This is a common technique to save CPU power. You can print any VST instrument track with all its effects to wave audio. If you need to make adjustments to the synths sound afterwards you can revert that channel back from audio to instrument, make your changes and reprint it to audio again. See Youtube video.
