My new Presonus 18/24 has been acting up and though a minor nuisance, it should not be happening.
Every single time I shut down or restart my computer, the USB DAC (Schiit Modi Multibit), Audio Technica Mic, and Amazon Alexa I have hooked up to the audio interface gets muted. The volume slider is where I left them for each channel and no mute button is switched on when I check the mixer settings.
The fix is to open Universal control and slightly move the volume slider down and back up and it will suddenly unmute and be at the correct volume.
I do not expect a new audio interface to act like this, the rest of it is nice and sounds amazing. But this might be a deal breaker and I will have to return it and go with another brand if this persists.
I have:
- Updated firmware to the latest
- Updated the software
- Latest drivers installed
- Windows 10 x64 updated to the latest version
- Reinstalled firmware
- Removed and reinstalled software
- Tried different USB ports
None of these things has made it stay working correct. I am running an Asus X-99 Deluxe II motherboard, Intel Core i7 6850k, and 32 GB of memory.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem? It is quite annoying having to fix it every single time I reboot the computer.
