How can I connect my record player with the interface (Audiobox 1818VSL) to hear the sound on my studio monitors?

My idea was to connect the record player with a phono preamp and the output of the preamp to the line in on my interface but it doesn't work

I assume the phono preamp needs some form of power supply - is that connected and working?

And/or, once you connect everything up, you're not getting any sort of activity in your mixer window, on the respective inputs?

Yes, the preamp needs power and is connected and is also working.

And yes, I connected everything up and there's no activity or reaction on the inputs.
