Hi,

After looking for an answer for the last 4 days I cannot not write and ask for help. Recently I switched to vst library for orchestra after using notation for years.

Please, help me how to assign the faders to control expression and modulation while playing the strings on my keyboard? Ideally when I play I want to move with my other hand the faders to control the modulation and expression. I am using Orchestral tools, Berlin series if that helps in any way.

Tried to add automation and then assign fader to it. When i open the External Devices window i see that under faderport i have a few faders assigned with expression or modulation. However, i guess this is not the case as when i go to Mix and have all the sections as Volume, Modulation, Epression etc. I cant see any changes, nor can i when i look at the Kontakt player.

What should i do?!

Thank you in advance,

Dimitar

As part of the latest firmware in the Presonus Universal Control version 3 release, we added TWO new features into the FaderPort 8 and 16. We’ve added a dedicated operation mode for Ableton Live and a dedicated MIDI CC operation mode so that the all buttons, knobs, and faders can transmit CC MIDI messages. These can be mapped to any MIDI software or plugin but are already pre mapped to useful MIDI CC assignments like Modulation, Expression, Pan, Portamento, etc.

Please see the latest version of the FaderPort 8 and FaderPort 16 manual for the default assignments.

To update to the latest firmware, please download the latest version of Universal Control from the application via the  "File" >> "Check for Updates" menu. Once installed and your device is connected, you will be prompted to update your FaderPort 8 or FaderPort 16.

The latest firmware update released on 2/25/2020 allows you to set up the FaderPort 8 for your DAW, then switch to MIDI CC control for wonderful 100mm faders for expression, etc. The latest update then allows you to switch back and forth on-the-fly! Just press both Shift Keys to toggle.
