New to Notion, coming from Encore...having a lot of trouble finding and adjusting.

I have 4 vocal lines and a piano staff. I need to hide the vocal lines on the first two measures. It took me forever to figure out how to just get 2 measures on the top system. Is the only way to do that to show the handles and drag them??? Music I work on almost always has varying amounts of measure in each system. All this dragging is going to be a hindrance.

So once I got the two measures on the top system. I selected the 2 measures on the 4 vocal lines and clicked "hide" in the edit menu....nothing happened. I selected them again and went back to the edit menu, which now says "unhide," so it looks like it thinks they are hidden, but I can still see them.

Notion arranges measure count by itself, so you don't have to tweak anything. But if you want to force partucular number of measures in a system, right-click the measure which should go to the next system and in the context menu click Measure N -> Force New System.

To hide staffs without notes in a system you select all (Ctrl+A, or Cmd+A on Mac, I guess) and choose View -> Hide Resting Staves in the main menu.

Hope this helps.

If you are switching from another software, I would suggest you reading the manual entirely before trying to do any work. This way you'll save more time and nerves in the end.
