I want to use Analog Delay on a specific, short section of a guitar track. I do not understand how to set that plugin up to where I can adjust it not to affect the track other than where needed.

I need help on a "I have no idea how to do this at all" level.

Of course, this help will carry over to other plugins and options. Thanks for the help.

  1. Create an FX channel
  2. Insert the Analog Delay into the FX channel.
  3. In MIX view enable the send from your audio channel to FX 1
  4. In Arranger view,  add an FX send automation envelope to your audio track.
  5. Adjust the FX send automation envelope so that the audio track signal is only flowing to the FX channel when you want.

In my example below I have edited the FX send automation envelope so that it is only sending audio to the Analog Delay on the 4th beat of the bar..
