AUDIOBOX 96 won't record in studio one 4 if the 48V is pushed out

AUDIOBOX 96 won't record in studio one 4 if the 48V is pushed out. The 48V button pushed in is the only way that I can record but that picks up way too many unwanted background sounds. What should I do? Please help, thanks.
