Through firmware if possible-
Switch to single stream multi track file writing on the Studiolive Series III mixers like
*********/Midas use on their X-Live SD card recording card for X32/M32 mixers instead of multiple single track wav files and create a tool like theirs for spitting the tracks on the computer after recording.
Since I am able to use non-supported "officially" SDXC cards on their system for 32 tracks with no problems, I believe that the problem with the Series III SDHC compatibility/brand pickiness is did to writing 32 individual wav files at once versus writing all 32 tracks to one multitrack wav file (with the 4GB constraints creating a new continuation file as needed).

I'll guarantee this type write will not only improve compatibility of SDHC cards, but would make it where "officially" not supported SDXC cards formatted FAT32 would start testing for more than 9-12 tracks and be capable of recording full 32/34 track.

Seriously... Go look around at how many of us can record full 32 track shows on the B/M boards equipped with X-Live cards!  If ********* can come up with a way for it to work, surely Presonus can!!!!

Thanks!

This Series III only supports up to 32GB cards, this is also the same for the other brands you mention.

Actually I'm using 256GB and 512GB times two on the brands that I mentioned...

Format FAT32 on a laptop and they record 32 tracks perfectly for a **** ton of hours.  It's all about the multi-channel wave file writing format versus individual wav files per track.

It would make your console less finicky about "officially" supported card sizes as well...  It's all about the write format.

The problem is, the reason your console is so finnicky about SD card brand/speed is due to writing 32 .wav file streams versus a single multitrack .wav file (single file stream, even when it gets to the 2GB part splits).

We know you can't support/talk about running SDXC due to licensing, but I've still bought recommended cards and had my SL 32 Series III puke them out as incapable of 32 tracks.... YES.... 32GB recommended SDHC cards....  multitrack single file write stream would have been the ticket, no matter the size of the card.  That's why I'm forced to use other brand I have to do any computer-less recording that is actually truly reliable.  I would MUCH rather use my StudioLive 32 Series III for that, but the facts are that there was a not so great design in choosing how to write up to 32-34 tracks at once to the SDHC cards.  Even without the unmentionable license required cards is there ANY CAPABILITY IN FIRMWARE TO CHANGE TO A MULTI-TRACK WAV FILE WRITE SO WE DON'T HAVE TO WASTE MONEY ON SDHC CARDS IN THE RECOMMENDED LIST BECAUSE IT'S STILL A CRAPSHOOT RANDOM HIT AND MISS.  Thanks!
