Hi,

I am hearing a lot of clicking and popping on record and playback on my DAW. I am using the Presonus audiobox interface. I have a 2019 Raxer Blade 15 laptop. HD - samsung mzvlb512. I have checked the sample rate is at the max - 2014. Tried different usb ports. I can't see what the issue is.

It seems to happen more when working with ertain VST's, particularly Omnisphere and Sublab.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Matt

I’ve had this in Logic when I had tried to use plugins on the signal as it’s being tracked. I shut the plugins off and recorded the track, then added plugins and there was no cracking or popping.

Generally, what I do is play with the Sample Rate (higher is better in my experience) and the Buffer Size.  I noticed that when I defined a larger buffer, it tends to eliminate pops and clicks (not 100%), but is much, much better.

Not sure how to get rid of pops 100%, but it's so little now for me, I can worry about getting rid of what little is less later on using a limiter or something.

I should also mention that, with my sampled instrument library sounds, I experience better responsiveness when I use a higher sampling rate. In my case, 96000 rather than 44100 and I'm using Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, Orchestral Tools Inspire I sounds, and Native Instruments Komplete S88 Mk2 controller.

I had this problem and it was driving me NUTS!!! Then I tried turning the volume down in the DAW program and it stopped. I had tried adjusting the volume outputs on my PC to no avail. But then I noticed the volume control on the bottom left of Studio One 5 and turned it down. Fixed!
