Question

2012 iMac, 10.10.5, Studio One 3, Universal Apollo 16, Avastor External Hard Drive. All song files and including template folder are on my Avatar external hard drive. Had this working okay prior to the last Studio One 3 update.

You may want to check write permissions for that drive. Are you able to save a song to it? If so then write permissions shouldn't be an issue. If you cannot save a song to your drive, then possibly there is a write permissions issue. You would have to go to your operating system's disk utility and allow "writing" to the drive.

One other possible work around is to save the template to another drive and then copy it over to the drive you want it on manually.

Try simplifying the name of the template and don't include a picture to see if Studio One will allow you to do that.
