The sounds of other programs stop playing when working with Studio One v4.6, then you must have to reconnect the sound card to work with other apps 

Sound card: Infrasonic Amon.

Pro Audio applications do this for stability and reliability.  

When I am recording, I don't want anything to interrupt the process (ruin the take).

If you need to share the audio interface with other apps while you have Studio One running, you can try going into Options/Audio Setup and check "Release audio device in background".

When you click on something outside of Studio One it will release the audio device so the other app can use it.
