AR16 has the 1/2 send and 3/4 return buttons. What do I do with all of these?

I have the USB button pressed on superchannel and it seems to be working fine with Studio One 4.

At what point would I need to use these other send/return buttons?

The send button on the main fader means that if engaged then USB sends 1/2 on the mixer are now a the Main left/right and no longer channels 1/2 on the mixer.
