How long is the minimum commitment period if I take out the monthly subscription option for Sphere, and if I take a break from the plan, how long do you retain any files in the cloud storage?

We don't. You'll need to download all your files.

After 30 days from the initial sign-up will be your renewal date. If the monthly fee is not paid, you'll have a 7 day grace period to re-up your membership. If you don't you'll lose access to any installed software from Sphere and anything in the cloud account will be deleted.
