Older FireWire version of 16.0.2 set up for church. During the Coronavirus environment, we began streaming services with vMix software. We're feeding the 16.0.2 audio to the PC via FireWire, but there doesn't seem to be any way to control audio content. We have several mics that are generally live, but muting at the board for the house doesn't mute that content over the FireWire. We are considering nixing the FireWire altogether & setting up mixed output audio on an Aux channel -- then using a USB adapter or interface to get that into the PC for streaming. Our needs are very simple = no band or instruments, just vocal mics. I'm looking for suggestions (1) as to whether the Aux/interface idea would work, and (2) what USB adapter or interface might work. I've looked at the PreSonus Audiobox USB 96, but that might be overkill for our needs. Thanks.

You can not use a Firewire to USB adaptor for this.

Most streaming software only see channels 1/2 from the mixer. You can adjust your WDM settings or just add a AudioBox to the PC and run the main left and right from the mixer into the AudioBox and connect the AudioBox to the PC via USB.
