I have a 5 piece band with a 24R. Like many groups, I'm the "tech" and I no longer give anyone else access to QMix because they'll just screw up their own mix or spend half the show staring at their phones trying to fix it (yes, musicians can be that stupid, and some are beyond comprehension of electronics). Now, I have "all access" on my phone and if someone needs something they tell me and I take care of it. It's just easier this way since I'll have to fix it eventually regardless.
The problem is that when I go back and forth on various aux's, their preferences don't go with them, so to use the "wheel" I have to select them all over each time. Same with "group labels". Most of the time, just a bump up or down in their own monitor is all they need, but I'm playing guitar as well.
Also, the inability to label the "groups" beyond "1, 2, 3, or 4" just makes it too easy to screw something up, even if it's me doing it, and I set up the system. I'd like to use them but most of the time I avoid them for this reason.
I know this isn't how the system was designed and can be honestly credited to our own group's stupidity but it's unfortunately reality for many users just like us. Once the first song starts playing, their minds turn to the task at hand, and all else vanishes.
