I just got a reply from MOTU-Support. They provided me a firmware-update for my MOTU 828es and now it works perfectly!
related to an answer for: AVB Network with Studio Live and Motu Drop out

Hey what was the firmware number that fixed the AVB issue?  I've been having the problem for a few years now and no firmware updates ever fixed it..
