This feature refers to something present in a lot of other software, primarily video editing software. I'm a sound designer and Foley artist, and I want to be able to pre-slice audio in the Pool or Files window to be able to just import a small section of an audio clip rather than dragging the whole thing into the timeline and having to cut it down there.

For example, if I have a 20 minute audio file and I need to extract a 10 second clip from somewhere in the middle I would rather be able to preview and highlight that small section and then drag it into my arrangement as just that 10 second clip. It would save a lot of time when working on larger projects and make the workflow more efficient.

If you want to see an implementation of this feature in other software, Adobe Premiere Pro allows you to do this with both Audio and Video clips in the Preview window, and you can set an In and Out point and the drag it directly onto the timeline as a shortened clip.

I've been advised this doesnt yet exist in Studio One and to raise a request to see if it can be added :)
