Question

I want to be able to slow down the play of a midi track where the tempo has already been inserted

in the tempo track. I have tempo changes in the song, so adjusting the tempo in tempo track becomes

cumbersome and prone to errors.

It would be great if there was a slider for play performance where the tempo could be increased or decreased

by a percentage like featured on some notation software.

The reason I need to slow down the midi track is so I can automate the track which requires a physical performance

by me and I need to slow things down to get it right.

I don't understand why this would be difficult because MIDI is easier to manipulate than audio and you can

slow down the audio in studio one. If this feature already exists, please let me know. It would be a great feature

for speeding up production time.

Yea. In FL you can play in halftime or doubletime or 0.75 or 1.5 by using keys on the numpad. It's great to find something you think you hear but it's just to quick to notice where the issue lies. Or to just hear the track fast to go through it to find a lyric that the artist want to re record. Etc

Ok, I am going to answer my own question. That can happen when you are working through a technical issue.

To slow down playback of a midi track with multiple tempo changes in the tempo track:

1)Right click in tempo track and select all. You will see that the nodes where there are tempo changes are highlighted.

2)Move the cursor above the tempo line until it turns into the handlebars. Then you can globally lower or raise all tempos.

3)When you are finished with writing your automation, you can repeat steps 1 & 2 to bring the tempos back to the the song tempo.

It would be great if Presonus could add a tempo fader so you could adjust the midi playback speed.

I agree. I could REALLY use a midi tempo adjustment for "on the fly" adjustments. The static adjustment is fine but it is not for tempo adjustment while the song is in play mode. I have requested this before and was told it's impossible, but every other daw I've used has had that feature.
