Question

All the controllers I've googled so far seem like they only control the volume or buttons like mute / solo. But since I can easily control the volume in Studio One using the arrows on the keyboard and use Stream Deck for my functions, these are useless for me. Much more important for me would be the ability to control the EQ so that I can change EQ parameters with my right and left hand at the same time. Since Studio One has very poor mouse wheel support for its own EQ, such a controller would be very helpful for me. Are there such controllers, and if so, does Studio One support them?

Thanks for the answers, but my question wasn't how to control Studio One with a midi controller, but what is the best midi controller for EQs. I used to have the ********* BCR32 for this, but it broke and is no longer available. That's why I have now bought the DJ Techtools Midi Fighter Twister which is exactly what I need.

MIDI Controllers tend to be very flexible in how you assign knobs, sliders, pads, etc.  In Pro EQ it's super easy to configure a mapping between a controller and an EQ parameter.  For instance, here you can see that I right-clicked the Gain knob for the LF band in Pro EQ.  I then assigned it to knob 13 on my Xboard controller.  Now I can increase or decrease the gain of that band with a knob 13 on my Xboard controller.  I could go through and assign all of the knobs on my Xboard to all of the parameters in Pro EQ if I wanted.  When you choose a MIDI controller, choose one with lots of knobs or sliders that can be arbitrarily assigned to any parameter.

Presonus already makes a controller that you can adjust plugins like Pro E.Q. called the Faderport.  They come in various sizes.  I use the 16 channel one, but there is also an 8 channel version. There's even a version which is a single channel version but incorporates an audio interface.  Alternatively the remote app on android/iOS can be used for the same functions for free.
