I've been doing webinars using a Blue Yeti without any issues for the past 10 years. After it started having issues I've bought a Presonus Revelator as a replacement.
The issue I've been having is that this microphone catches the sound from the speakers when people are asking questions or when I'm moderating a conversation. I've never had this issue with the Blue Yeti on a 65% gain and a cardioid pattern.
What I've tried:
- setting cardioid for the Revelator
- playing with the gain (at 30% I still hear the speakers and now my voice is mangled)
- playing with the gate/limiter/hpf
What I haven't tried: the fat channel settings.
What I'm not willing to try:
- using earbuds or headphones
- distance from the computer
- noiseproofing the room
I can't believe that a 10 year old Blue Yeti without any special settings can do something Revelator can and this is why I'm asking this question now.
