How NOT to multi-instrument

I am trying to create separate instrument / MIDI tracks with separate sounds (e.g. chorus, violins, bass) from the PreSonus "Presence" instrument. My problem is that it keeps layering the different sounds (making a multi-instrument) rather than creating one instrument/sound for each individual track.

How do I create instrument / MIDI tracks with separate sounds from the same (Presence) instrument without layering / creating a multi-instrument? Does it have something to do with my input/output or channel settings?

I'm (obviously) new to using MIDI and VSTs, so any help from the community would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm using a Native Instruments Komplete M32 and StudioOne 5.2.

Thanks!

Matt

Hi Hi. I'm doing this from memory so it might be a little off. If you bring up the browser (bottom right corner), then instruments, and scroll down past "multi instruments" to "Presonus". Open that up and you'll see "Presence". Drag "Presence" to the far left on the track view window under where the names for tracks go. If you stop moving the mouse but keep the button down, a pop up with "create track here" will appear when you're at the correct place. Drag Presence again and drop it below the new track. That will create individual midi tracks for you with different Presence instances, so you can use each for each sound you want. I hope that makes sense. Good luck.

i'm having the very same issue using s1 pro v.5.3 and i do drag  the vsti over from the browser, and it does create the new track, but i can create parts on 4 different tracks, using 4 different vsti's, but for example i can have impact open on track one with a kick/snare playing, but when i start playing a different vsti on a different track, its still triggering different sounds from impact. Same thing happens when adding more tracks, i can be on track 4 and have the sequence stopped, and with console open, see sounds being triggered on all other tracks as well. how do i keep each track independent so this does not happen ? i drag each different plugin over from the browser each time.

i have even tried to assign different midi channels to each track when i can, some plugins dont seem to allow you to specify a particular midi channel ? am i missing something ?

thanks for your help, this is killing my song writing.
