Can anyone else confirm this? I am asking because I want to build a desktop with thunderbolt and I would like to know  if anyone else was able to connect quantum 2632 (thunderbolt 2) with thunderbolt 4.

Yes .
I just managed it on Sunday 21st Nov as it happens ...
I didn't give in without a fight though.

It's the first time I didn't build my studio PC myself.
The deal at Scan UK was just too good and the scope for me spec'ing it wrong was too risky this time around.
Mine is much like the Mobo and Thunderbolt 4 card in this article.

I've got a Startech T'Bolt 3 to T'Bolt 2 adapter, one of the Presonus recommended ones.
There was another mobo option with T'Bolt 3 out from the panel (Gigabye IIRC) but it had way less USB sockets than this ASUS Z-590 Prime, so I went for this slightly older Mobo and the ASUS EX4 card to provide T'Bolt 3 outs.
Good luck with your build

I just acquired an HP Spectre x360 14 with x2 Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports. I previously had connected successfully, a Quantum 2 (thunderbolt 2) interface to  another laptop  that had a Thunderbolt 3 port via the external Startech TBT3TBTADAP (T2->T3) adapter. Using the same adapter and connecting to the thunderbolt 4 USB-C port on the HP everything worked fine. I suppose your miles may very based on the laptop/desktop Thunderbolt 4 port as it needs to deliver power to the Startech adapter . So thunderbolt ports that do not deliver any power will not work with the adapter. I had installed all the latest drivers for the legacy Quantum 2 (Universal Control). The HP had the win11 home OS that came with thunderbolt drivers etc. Normally thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports that can be used to charge the laptop can deliver power etc.
