when i am recording i can hear my own voice but i cant hear the beat in my headphone. what do i need to do to hear myself and the beat while i am recording

There is a mix control button that determines how much of the new (vocal) signal is heard verses how how loud the existing tracks are heard.

Which audio interface are you using?

If you just press play, can you hear the beats?
