With the release of ProTools 9, ProTools now works with PreSonus hardware.  Make sure all the newest PreSonus drivers and the newest version of ProTools are installed for best results. Please note: Pro Tools 9 is only compatible with Mac OSX 10.6 or later and Windows 7. If your computer is not running one of these operating systems, you will not be able to install ProTools 9 to use with a PreSonus interface.

Previous versions(8 and older): ProTools LE is a proprietary software that is designed to work with specific Digidesign and MAudio hardware. Hardware designed by other manufacturers, including PreSonus, is not supported. However, tracks recorded in other DAW applications like Cubase, Logic, or Sonar, can be rendered to a common start time and imported directly into ProTools as WAV or AIFF files. This will also allow you to import your files into any other audio program as well that can read a WAV file.

Conversely, you can save tracks created in ProTools (or any other audio program) and import them into another DAW application.
