The instrument rack lacks the ability to perform batch editing actions on multiple instruments at once. This can be tedious and time-consuming when working with large projects or complex setups. Batch editing options would allow users to apply common edits such as disable, remove, replace, rename, or expand to multiple instruments in the instrument rack with a few clicks.

Benefits:

• Batch editing options would save time and effort for users who need to make changes to multiple instruments in the instrument rack.

• Batch editing options would enhance the flexibility and creativity of users who want to experiment with different instrument combinations or update/ change templates easily.

• Batch editing options would improve the organization and clarity of the instrument rack by allowing users to rename or expand instruments as needed.

Possible implementation:

• Batch editing options could be added as a context menu that appears when right-clicking on multiple selected instruments in the instrument rack.

• The context menu could include options such as disable, remove, replace, rename, or expand that apply to all the selected instruments.

• The replace option could open a dialog box that lets users choose a new instrument from a list of instruments or if option + drag an instrument from the browser onto multiple selected instruments.

• The rename option could open a dialog box that lets users enter a new name for each selected instrument or use a naming template with variables such as index, category, or device.

• The expand option would toggle the visibility of the instrument details such as inputs, outputs, channels, or presets for all the selected instruments.
