Question

Hi all

Just a comment, really.

I just looked at the 'community' tab on the main Presonus webpage. I find it odd that, as an owner of Studio One Professional (versions 6, 5, 4 & 3), I can read the posts but can't reply to any of them unless I pay to join Studio One +. I understand the subscription model is getting pushed but I feel this is going a bit too far. I mean, it's no biggie, I can live with it... just the way things are now, I guess. I mean, I will carry on using Studio One - as making music is my focus, and the odd forum just a sideline. Still, just seems daft to me.

Whilst on the subject, there seems to be a bit of an anomaly in terms of the aforementioned 'community', Presonus 'forums' and this 'questions' page. Why all the different pages?

As a Plus subscriber, I understand the Community page exclusivity. It's nice to have a page that doesn't get cluttered with every support question under the sun (although I do love the support aspect of the Q&A page - I just think it shouldn't be part of the Community page). We can have discussions about new features, share music with each other, ask for help, etc. Definitely a daily visit for me.

While I think it might be neat to see the Community page open to Studio One Professional users (as opposed to Artist or Prime), I'm not sure how that would work when things like Mix Critique links are posted, and other subscriber-only events. I can see that getting very complicated.

As far as the "anomaly" goes, I fully agree - I'm not sure why there's a Forum AND the Q&A page (I greatly prefer the Q&A page over the forums, even if the voting/views system seems a bit wonky).

I'd love if someone else chimed in here and offered more insight as to why the Forum page exists when there's this page that seems more active (as far as I can tell).
