I'm writing jazz charts in Real Book style using Notion. I want to have a piano staff for the first line, to write the intro and establish the rhythm / style / bass pattern, then have just the treble clef only from there on. I can't seem to find a way to do it, I tried 'change staff settings within the score' from the manual but it just changed the whole staff. I want the first line different to the others .... must be doable??

  • Multiple Staves with Hidden Staves:

    • Create two staves: one for piano and one for treble.
    • Use Notion's formatting options to hide the treble staff for the first section.
    • For the rest of the chart, hide the piano staff.
    • This method might require manual adjustments between sections.
  • Systemic Note Input:

    • Input the piano part manually like for qatar visa check, then delete the unnecessary notes for the remaining sections.
    • This is time-consuming but provides precise control over the layout.
  • External Notation Software Integration:

    • If Notion's limitations are significant, consider using dedicated music notation software (like MuseScore, Finale, or Sibelius) to create the chart.
    • Then, import the image or PDF into Notion for presentation.
  • Custom Template Creation:

    • If you frequently use this format, create a custom Notion template with the desired staff setup as a starting point.
