I am using Studio One Artist 3.2 and I am having an issue with midi notes staying on and being sustained when I play more than one note on my external keyboard. I am not using a sustain pedal and the problem occurs regardless which virtual instrument I use. Anytime I play more than one note or even just one note after another, the notes stay on until I either, change plug in or, use All Notes Off button. I have a brand new AudioBox iTwo and a Roland E-09. The midi is working as the program registers the incoming signals but does not stop the signal after a key is pressed and a note is played. Has anyone has this issue before is there a simple solution? Currently, I can not record midi because it registers that more than one note is being played when it is not, or sustains the notes when nothing is being played. If someone knows a fix to this issue any help is much appreciated.

This is a known issue with some MIDI keyboards and the iTwo.

Your MIDI keyboard may have a setting that will correct this. Some MIDI keyboards have an external clock setting that must be set to ON to allow the keyboard to receive a MIDI clock source from the iTwo. This is common in certain Yamaha keyboards that have been reported to be problematic when used with the iTwo. If you are experiencing latency or drop outs then you should see if your keyboard has an external clock setting.

If you do not have an external clock setting option in your keyboard you will need to change the setting via SysEx commands. The specific SysEx command will be found in the MIDI keyboard's MIDI implementation chart. This can be found either in the manual for the MIDI keyboard or you may need to contact the manufacturer's support team for this information.

The step by step procedure for enabling the external clock source will vary by manufacturer and model.
