It is still a pain to work with midi clocked external equipment like modular systems, synths with sequencer or drum machines.

Studio One 3.2 handle the start to a bar very good. But when you come from Logic X and used to midi clock offset for external midi devices, its terrible to jam with Studio One, when the Modular system is 20ms behind, the Korg Minilogue is 15ms, the Drummachine is 25 ms behind the beat, to what is recorded in Studio One.

You have to record everything (and longer than the part) and move it manually back in the grid. Now you can hear, if its grooving or not.

I think, there are so many helpful contemporary tools in Studio One, but with external midi clock, its like on ATARI ST.

I ask over the years at least 5 times on different paths for this feature, but there were not open ears.

Maybe now, when hardware synths a becoming back in focus of an keyboard player.

There used to be a box from a company called Garfield that had a product called the Time Commander (article on Matrix Synth) that was a box that you could plug your gear into to handle the timing offsets. I'm not sure of anything today that will let you do that. You may just want to find one of these older boxes. Everything plugs into that, then clock that via Sync-24 to MIDI Sync conversion and you're probably closer to what you want in terms of real time sync.

For your modular, consider the Expert Sleepers module called Silentway, you can find more information on it on their website.

Alex thanks for your reply, but this old device is not to get anymore. And i would need 4 of them.

The easy way is just this feature like Ableton Live since version 5 got, that you can have a Midi clock offset for every midi out. And i see more and more hardware sequencer, synthesizer with sequencer and with Studio One this will running in front the hardware sync...
