With the release of OSX 10.9 Mavericks, it appears that Apple have made changes in the OS which have affected Ad-Hoc networking. This change appears to adversely affect Universal Control/VSL, preventing connection with SL Remote and Qmix via this method of network connection.

The preferred and recommended method of establishing a network connection for SL Remote and Qmix has always been to use a dedicated wireless router. It will provide a more stable connection for more devices with greater range and less interference, so our recommendation remains that for the best wireless connection you should use a wireless router for your SL Remote and Qmix network.
