I'm using Presonus FaderPort with success in StudioOne 3.

We're about to purchase a couple of RM32ai modules, which use Universal Control AI to control them.  So we're going to use the touchscreen computer.  But I'm wondering:  If I connect a FaderPort to the touch screen computer, will UC AI recognize and respond to it for a tactile mixing alternative?

To clarify the question a bit - I know that FaderPort's purpose is for DAW control (StudioLive, Logic, ProTools, Cubase, etc).

When I start StudioLive, for example, since it's a Presonus DAW, it just 'sees' the FaderPort, and the software will respond to the FaderPort.

I'm asking if it is possible to get the Universal Control software (not a DAW - just a mixing control software) to also recognize the FaderPort.  The goal here would be that, if you have a selected channel in Universal Control, you could use the FaderPort's fader or other buttons (Mute/Solo, for example) to manipulate the software...

Does this help clarify?

Thanks,
Jeff

This is exactly what FaderPort was made for: DAW control. It does not "understand UC Surface"... The controller for RM's is called CS18AI.

Your question is legit but technically it should be an easy fix Drivers/plugin integration specially with the new FaderPort 8 to control Uc surface but that would create a sale conflict of the StudioLive CS18AI
