It sounds like you are dealing with a possible latency issue. Here is what you will want to check:
1. Increase the audio buffer size/aka Device Block Size for your audio interface in the control panel of your audio interface, prior to opening Studio One. If you are on a Mac, you can just go into Studio One>Preferences>Audio Setup and increase the Device Block Size there.
2. Make sure that you are not using a 5400 rpm hard drive in your system. You will want to use a 7200 rpm hard drive or faster.
3. Check your cables and try using a different USB port if you are using a USB audio interface.
