So i have an RM16 currently, as this has under the hood 32 channels, but only 16 physical inputs, would it be possible to buy a 32 channel stagebox and hook it up over a network, to give 32 physical inputs to the the RM16?

The new stageboxes will be for Series III only as part of this "ecosystem". You will need to get a RM(L)32AI or a SL 3242AI for more input and output channels. For more information about "Series III" have a look in the forums.
